The Solar System has been consumed by the structure.

Thousands of generations have lived and died, forgotten in the darkness of the infinite pipework and hidden warrens of the ever-expanding sprawl. History has been forgotten by all who still live, consigned to the deepest databases of the silicon lifeforms who set this dark future in motion.

Humans and their degenerate descendants still cling to life inside the structure, isolated communities hiding between the superstructure layers, trying to avoid the attention of the cybernetic organisms drift through the wreckage, following crumbling instruction code.

You are such a cybernetic organism.

Do you remember your purpose?

Will you rebel against it?

Or will you fade into the dark?

Systems that influenced the design include John Harper’s Blades in the Dark, Adam Vass’ Necronautilus, Jack Harrison’s Artefact, and Normality by Hugh Dingwall and Vishãla Jekic.

Version 0.1.0 of negastructure was written and designed for the RPG-Talk “Darkness” Game Jam. This version of the game uses AI-generated art for illustrations, and is made available for free. There is no intent to profit off generative art in this project.
